Micro Metal Muff

The micro metal muff can be rightfully called a killer distortion pedal. It is an analog pedal and it has killer tones! The sounds that are obtained from it are very pleasing to the ear. Crisp, Clear and Crunchy! The three characteristics that everyone is looking for in a distortion pedal.
I don't have a great guitar or good pickups yet I was made to sound amazing thanks to this pedal. I mean isn't that what everyone wants? To sound good or great. Obviously I assume that you can play decent guitar :P.

Now getting to the specs of this pedal . That is the stuff that are seen on the pedal.
- a hi-lo and off switch knob
This gives a change in tone and flaunts the versatility of this pedal.
-A tone knob
This obviously is used to increase and decrease the tone
-A dist knob
Tells as to how much gain you want. You don't want to keep this too high as it will muffle up your sounds. A quick tip. If you want to play palm muted stuff DON'T keep the gain high. It reduces clarity.

-Vol knob
You know what this is for right?!

There are different varieties of this pedal as in the cost increases with increasing functions. I personally think this is an insane buy for anyone looking to get a distortion pedal.
COST: Rs. 5500

The Ibanez S420

The s420 is the successor of the s320 which was a 22 fret model. Of late I had an opportunity to try out this interesting guitar. Now why I call this guitar interesting is because of the finish and the system at its back. Generally we open a set of screws to get access to the springs which hold the tremelo arm. Well thats not quite the case with the s420. Its an open area with a huge bolt with which we can adjust the springs by hand.

Other than this the finish of the guitar is very fascinating indeed. It looks glamorous, almost has the JS series look and is made of good materials.

Specs:
Body: Mahogany
Fret:Rosewood(24)
Pickups: INF 1 &2
5 way changer for 2 Humbuckers!
Thats another ascpect about this guitar that caught  my eye. Instead of a 3 way changer for a 2 humbucker guitar. It actually has a 5 way changer.

The guitar on the whole has great tone and potential . Great for shredding and riffing. Very versatile and can be modified a little that is by changing the pickups. If that change is done then its an amazing guitar indeed. Cheers!:)

Tonelab USB Recording

The USB based recording in the Tonelab ST, is something that helps you achieve true clarity from home and gives almost studio like quality. I bought my VOX a little more than a year ago. When I bought it i was not quite satisfied as I was unable to use it to it's true potential. Learning more about my processor I have started using the USB interface given with it. I use it only for recording though. I have not yet made patches on my computer using it.

The sound that I get is very pleasing and the best part is that you can hear yourself play almost without any lag. It would be better if you could get a firewire interface. The good part about this is that it does not expect you to have even a decent system. I mean even with an atom processor one could record on softwares such as Audition or FL Studio. Even if you have something like Cubase or any of the other Steinberg products I do not think it should cause much of a problem.Even though people do underestimate the power of the atom, I say otherwise after having a first hand experience working on one. Initially even I happened to be hesitant in using the system for recording. Later I noticed if you are not synthesizing many effect then it should not be much of a problem.

One more important thing to be noted is that if the sound card driver on your system is not very good then you can utilise the USB interface to access your VOX which will act as a temporary card and can handle way more loads than your basic driver. Basically, reduces the load of your processor by focusing the sound card issues to your processor. Another advantage of this is that the quality of sound is enhanced and it can be easily understood. So please do take undue advantage of your processor and record without any issues!
